Pauls Stradiņš Medicine History Museum, 19 Apr 2026

Curator: Solvita Krese

Duration: 50 min

Materials: Metal pipes, copper pipes, shower hose, plastic tube, irregularly broken piece of found green glass, three-liter glass jars, condensed milk, carbonated soft drink.

The performance Do You Remember When You Felt Cold for the First Time? took place at the closing of the exhibition Ghosts of Impossible Present at the Pauls Stradiņš Medicine History Museum. The performance invited visitors to collectively process and "preserve" the ghosts of the past, foregrounding the human body as a vessel of experience, memory, and ecological interdependence.

By dissolving the line between artist and viewer, the performance framed audience collaboration as a decolonial practice that challenges traditional hierarchies of authorship. Making the performance reliant on the audience exposed both artist and viewer to a shared state of vulnerability, where collective experience is formed through collaboration.
